Slovenia

The Hidden Gem

While talking with the well-travel author, Sam Baldwin, at Snowsphere Magazine, Slovenia had to be added to the trip. Sam made mention that this destination remains one of his favorites in all of Europe, and after doing some research, we can see why. Formerly part of Yugoslavia, Slovenia's picturesque lakes and mountain ranges lays home to some of Europe's best powder and partying. This country offers Western services at Eastern prices which as well all know that fits into a snowboarder's budget. If this country is half as good as they say then we are in for a real treat.

Vogel

Depending on the conditions, we will be riding at Vogel which is just outside the capital city of Ljubljana. Judging by the number of responses, this is by far the best place to ride in Slovenia. It seems that getting locals to show the secret stashes will play an important role at Vogel. Fortunately, this place is said to be the friendliest in all of Europe. The powdered terrain and epic off-piste potential will surely be perfect for some advanced riding and filming. Our own webmaster, Mike Lipski, is a seasoned fisherman and Slovenia traveler touting that the scenic beauty is next to none. Check out his pictures in our photo gallery if you are in disbelief.
